Goodbye Kansas VR

A company like Goodbye Kansas is naturally built upon talent. It’s crucial that we give our artists the right tools to perform their digital miracles, and we constantly strive to keep a creative and open-minded company culture in our studios. In this spirit, we encourage our artists to present their own ideas and whenever possible we help them to develop these ideas within the Goodbye Kansas universe.

Goodbye Kansas VR is a great example of what this can lead to. Two Goodbye Kansas artists – Joakim Olsson and Anton Palmqvist – had a brilliant idea for a game and pitched it to us. We immediately saw the potential, and helped them develop their idea into the VR game demo ThunderGod, a game where you step into the shoes of Thor – the norse god of thunder – and throw you hammer Mjölnir at giants attacking a small Viking village. The game demo also features the ground breaking eye tracking technique from Tobii and was showcased at the Tobii booth at GDC and at the Nordsken Festival of Games, Culture & Creativity in 2018.
